Hey Boston Girl!!

I just wanted to say thank you to start off as I bugged you so many times before and while I was on accutane asking questions and stuff and you helped me out so much. I have now been off for 8-9 months and things are going great (thank god). I thought I would check in with you and see how things are going for you as I know you have been off of accutane for longer than I have. I also wanted to know if you are still using the same products cuz I am kinda looking for a new sunblock (gettng sick of the smell on the neutrogena) but am afraid of it clogging pores or something. Anywho thanks again...and hope to talk to you soon!

Re: Hey Boston Girl!!

Hey curiousP!

I'm so glad to hear that accutane has worked so well for you in the 8 months you've been off of it. And you didn't bug me with the questions, of course! I went through the same thing of asking question after question because being on accutane sometimes got to be so nerve-wracking!

I don't use the same products right now. Instead of cetaphil face wash, I use a CVS brand which is similar to Neutrogena (the SA facewash). I still use the cetaphil moisturizer though because anything I've tried in the past has broken me out and I'm afraid to try anything else. I drink A LOT of green tea everyday - probably 5-6 cups. As for the sunscreen, I haven't been using anything yet but once the nicer weather comes around and I'm outdoors more, I know I have to find something. I'm going to look into this more (like you, I got really sick of the smell of the neutrogena kind) and when I find something, I'll let you know.

Again, I'm so glad to hear it all worked out for you! Keep me updated!

Re: Hey Boston Girl!!

Hey boston girl! I just wanted to check in with you and see how things were going. I live in Canada and the winter down is here is dry and cold, I think this may be the reason that I am getting some red irritated patches on my forehead (dry skin). The derm gave me some hydrocortisone cream to use if it doesn't go away. I just wanted to know if you ever experienced anything like this. I am thinking that it may also be caused by the neutrogena dry touch sunblock that i used the day before yesterday, because before that it was fine. Any ideas?

Ttyl!

Re: Hey Boston Girl!!

Hey curiousP
Our winter here wasn't too bad but I still have issues with dry skin on my forehead too. I actually don't even wash my forehead with anything, but I try to moisturize as much as I can and sometimes the dryness can get pretty bad. I always had issues with neutrogena sunblock myself. It used to make my cheeks and skin pretty flaky (and this was even before I was on accutane). I still have some hydrocortisone cream that I got o-t-c but I haven't used it in a long time. Have you tried stopping the sunblock and seeing what happens? Keep me updated and hope everything is well!

Re: Hey Boston Girl!!

Hey! actually yeh i did stop using the sunblock and put my humidifier to use and the rash type thing has cleared up. I think i am going to give La Roche Posay or Shiseido sunscreen a try since they've had good reviews over at makeup alley. If you come across anything that works please let me know and i will do the same. Are you using or thinking about using any AHA, BHA or retinol products for maintenance? I have started using a moisturizer (neostrata) with AHA in it every like once in a while when i feel like some pore are or might get clogged...but kind of want a consistent regimen to stick with. Have you heard about green cream cuz I was thinking about starting that too. Overall the status of my skin is good since accutane...just getting the odd clogged pore around the nose under the eye area. How is your skin doing? Any changes?

Ttyl!!
