Severe muscle pain/hydrocodone use

After some recent surgery I was taking hydrocodone just about every day. I have been taking it (one tablet) once a day for two months now. I know its habit-forming so I haven't had any in a couple days. I intend to stop taking them. Today I woke up with tight and sore thigh muscles. They got worse as the day wore on. Its the muscles in the front of my upper legs. Its so painful to walk that I waddle like and old lady.

I haven't done anything strenuous to do this. Thats what's worrying me. Could it be an effect of withdrawal from the medicine? And if I have been taking the meds for as long as I have said, should I expect withdrawal symptoms, and what might they be?

Also, can anything else be the cause for this unexpected muscle pain?

EDIT: After doing to gentle leg lifts and such, I realized the pain is not muscular. Its in my bones -- between the knees and my hips bones. As the hours pass, its becoming excruciating to walk or begin to sit down and get out of a chair.

Re: Severe muscle pain/hydrocodone use

I had the same problems following an operation two years ago what i found that gave me instant relief was the use of special neoprene support products
you can get them on line i found the range at

to have something that will offer support to most parts of the body

Re: Severe muscle pain/hydrocodone use

Thigh pain is often an indication of lower back or lumbar problems usually. Withdrawal from medications would not cause this type of pain and it's probably best to seek your physician if it is that severe.
