Allegra-D

Just got prescribed this today. Anyone taken this before? How long does it take to start working? Any side effects?

Thumbs up Re: Allegra-D

I have been taking it for 5 years. I think it took me about two weeks to feel the full effect. As you already know I have been taking it for a while... that’s how much it works for me, I am miserable without it! Other allergy medicines never helped with my stuffy nose, and have also made me tired, but Allegra-D is so great it completely gets rid of my stuffy nose (as well as itchy nose and eyes, watery nose and eyes) and since it is a decongestant, it doesn’t make you sleepy, in fact sometimes I feel a little more awake after it kicks in.

Although I am thinking about going to the doctor pretty soon to try something else because I have noticed lately that it is not working like it use to, it took 5 years to happen to me ... so you have a long way to go! I hope you like it as much as I do!

GOOD LUCK!!!

Thanks.

The doctor told me not to take it around bedtime because it will wake me up due to the decongestant. I'm supposed to take it twice daily, and she recommended I take it in the morning and again around 3-4pm.

Re: Allegra-D

Thanks for the info. I just started taking Allegra-D 5 days ago. I suffer from Migraines so maybe it's just my oversensativity but has anyone noticed that this med has given them headaches? I've had one everyday straight since I started the meds. You said it took 2 weeks to get the full effect of the drug ~ I don't know if I can hold out that long. Help.

Re: Allegra-D

I'm glad it worked for you! Unfortunately I've discovered a bad side-effect to it though: migraines. I have to get shots now instead..
