Cool rheumatologist

Hi, I just wanted to know how many people out there with fibro, go to see a rheumatologist? Have had this for 7 years, and I used to go to rheumatologist until he moved his office. My primary, gives me flexeril, and cyclobenzaprine ,but I am wondering if I should still be seeing a rheumatolgist? thanks Margie

Re: rheumatologist

IMO, rheumys are best for diagnosis & for Rx pain meds. Some of us find a great deal of help through naturopaths & alternative med.

Best wishes.

Re: rheumatologist

I've seen a rheumy ever since I was diagonsed about a year and a half ago. I noticed your location is Phila******a, PA. I'm from that area and my rheumy is relocating to the Exton area, was in Bryn Mawr. He's a wonderful rheumy and the best part is that he understands how his patients feel....because he himself has Fibro. He's name is Dr. Thomas Whalen, may want to look him up.

Re: rheumatologist

I see a rheumatologist. Sometimes I feel as though I could get the same care with my family physician, but other times I think he catches things they wouldn't catch. For example, this last time he worked with me on my posture and he also gave me a cortizone shot in my head for terrible headaches caused by a trigger point in the muscles in my head. Sounds crazy, but it actualy helped a lot!

Regarding your post, is there a difference between Flexeril and Cyclobenzaprine? I thought they were the same drug.
