Upper Respiratory Infection or Walking Pneumonia

Hi Everyone - I Wonder If Anyone Has Ever Had This Experience Three Weeks Ago I Started Out With An Upper Respiratory Infection
I Was Coughing Up Phlegm And Felt Really Tired And Achey. I
Went To The Doc And Was Given Bactrim Which I Took For The Time
Prescribed But 3 Days Before I Was Finished With The Meds I
Developed Laryngitis. I Went To Another Doc And He Said I Had
A Viral Respiratiory Infection And To Go Home And Rest And Drink
Fluids. I Had Walking Pneumonia 7 Yrs Ago And It Lasted For 2
Months. I Am Afraid I Have It Again . I Certainly Hope Not.
Would The Doctor Tell Me Right Away If I Had The Pneumonia?
Anyone Ever Been Sick For Over 3 Weeks With A Viral Upper
Respiratory Infection? Breanna

Did you have a chest X-Ray?

Could it be when you last saw the doctor it was only a respiratory infection? Maybe the respiratory infection has since turned into Pneumonia?

Re: Upper Respiratory Infection or Walking Pneumonia

Afh- I Just Had An Apt With The Second Doctor On May 28, 06.
And That Was The Day After I Took My Last Bactrim Pill. He
Listened To My Lungs And Told Me I Had A Viral Respiratory
Infection And That I Would Get Over It . I Just Did Not Realize
That It Would Last This Long- Now Going Into My Fourth Week.
Saturday I Felt Better And Did More Maybe Than I Should Have.
Sunday I Was Very Tired And Also Mon And Today. I Just Feel
Like I Should Feel Better - But I Guess Im Impatient Im Not
A Good Patient! Also I Was Laid Off From My Job March 31st So
I Want To Get Busy Getting Another Job (but Its Good That I
Didnt Have To Work The Last 3 Weeks) Maybe I Panicked When
I Didnt Feel Better After Taking The Bactrim And Getting The
Laryngitis. I Got Scared That I Would Have The Walking Pneumonia
Again. I Guess Ill Just Have To Be Patient If I Dont Feel Better
In One Week I Guess I Will Consider Going Back To The Doctor
He Did Mention Allergy Also Since The Weather Has Changed.
Thanks For Your Reply.
