Help, I can't figure out what is wrong with me! (sorry, long)

First off, about 1 1/2 wks ago, I started feeling like I had a UTI, I called my DR first thing on Mon, as the first symptoms were on a weekend. They couldn't get me in, and I felt horrible, so I called my GYN, they couldn't see me either, but called me in Macrobid, w/out seeing me.

That afternoon I was shaking, running fever and just miserable. I started the meds as soon as I picked them up. Honestly, the very next day I was FINE, the night was rough, but that Tuesday I was PERFECT, no pain, nothing.

Fast forward to this past Saturday afternoon....pain again, burning while urinating, just sick feeling, horrible feeling. Felt horrible thru Monday...called and the only time the DR could get me in was yesterday at 2:50.

Of course my urine was clear, I'm taking Macrobid...he is truly convinced this is not a UTI...so he sends me today for a pelvic sonogram, thinks its my ovaries & scar tissue. The sonogram tech said that all looked normal.

Late yesterday afternoon I noticed a pain in my right side/back...more upper back than lower. It hurts to sneeze, it hurts to cough, it hurts to bend over.

I had a blood clot in my Left lung in 1988, so of course I am freaking out thinking this is it...I just don't know.

I am now running a fever...and just feel awful, but do not know where to turn. My DR already thinks I am nuts.

Any advice??? TIA

I forgot to add that I have been nauseaus off and on since this past Monday.

It sounds to me like it could be a KIDNEY infection? My best friend had incredibly similar symptoms and that is what she ended up being diganosed with. Did you doctor metnion anything like that? If I were you I would go to the ER and get checked out pronto. Kidney infections can be incredibly nasty to deal with. And the abdominal pain you are describing, fever.,and teh UTI-type symptoms is EXACTLY what my friend went into the Emergency Room with. They did some blood test, urine tests, and ultra sound and it ended up that she had a NASTY kidney infection that took WEEKS to heal up because she had let it go too long. So get yourself checked out honey! If you feel that your regular doc is not treating you right or giving your symptoms enough attention then take yourself (or better yet, have someone else drive you!!!) to the ER. That abdominal pain is what is really making me think it is a kidney thing.... And sometimes a UTI that goes on too long can become a kidney infection. So it's possible your UTI was too far gone for the meds they gave you to treat and it has progressed into somethin more serious. Get yourself checked out. Do NOT feel you are over-reacting because you aren't! I would be worried too!

I thought kidney infection also, or some other organ is freaking out?

SweetSally, please don't let your doctor keep you away. If you cannot get results with your primary, maybe you'd consider going to the ER? Take care of yourself!
