Are all nasal sprays basically the same

My dr told me all of them are the same. But from reading posts in here, it seems one may not work for someone, then they switch brands and find it works much better. There can't be that much of a difference in effectiveness, could there?

Re: Are all nasal sprays basically the same

I guess they are all basically the same, though different enough to allow relief by one of them should another fail. That is what happened to me. No relief from rhinocort, flonase, nasacort. Nasonex finally helped. It is worth the exercise.

Re: Are all nasal sprays basically the same

Flonase was the first one I tried, and it worked. So I can't say for sure. They are very similar, but do have their differences. Some have preservatives that irritate some people, that other sprays don't have. I also suspect the actual container spray designs works better for some nose anatomy's than others. I wish my Floanse spray bottle worked more like my Astelin spray bottle, it's a better design IMHO.

The nasal sprays are all corticosteroids with different medications in them. I put the links to webmd.com if you would like to see the differences. I only responded to Flonase and have been using it for the last 10 or so years.
