Re: NightMares

I have the nightmares too. I've always had more nightmares than most people to begin with, but since being on the Nexium, it's been ridiculous. Just last night I was dreaming that I couldn't escape from the WTC while it was on fire.

Strangely enough, I'm a good sleeper, and I tend to forget the dreams after I wake up pretty quickly. But I'm worried that one day I'm going to reach the breaking point and just crack due to these dreams. I try not to think about it that often, because what's the point? I don't want to focus on them, as I have no choice but to take the Nexium.

If you are desperate for 1 good night's sleep Taape, you can always take an Ambien. It will knock you out cold and you will not dream anything (at least anything that you can remember). You'll wake up 8 hours later feeling totally refreshed. Of course, Ambien is totally addictive, so I strongly recommend against taking it except for the occasional night that you are really suffering. I honestly would not recommend that anyone take it more than 1x every 2 weeks. It's a benzo and can really screw you up. But it works like magic!

Re: NightMares

I agree with aswander.... take them once in awhile, but don't make a daily habit of it. After months of not sleeping my body just needed some rest. I never use an alarm clock and I feel that taking the lunesta for a couple of weeks adjusted my sleeping schedule. I tried restoril at first and it completely zonked me out and carried over into my day. Walked around like a zombie. I'd talk to you doctor and get some samples from him/her.

Re: NightMares

Thanks for the suggestions. I do sleep but it's just that the nightmares either wake me up or don't but I don't feel rested in the morning. I told my doctor about the problem at my app't and I misunderstood what he told me to do. It's good to read your medical reports/doctor's reports just for this reason. Anyways, the nurse clarified this for me. The doctor wanted me to try taking both doses of Protonix in the morning saying that it's a 24 hour med so that should work, then take Pepcid at night before I go to bed. The doctor was hoping that it would help avoid the nightmares. I'd be taking one more medication but it would probably be worth it for a nights sleep without interruptions.

Re: NightMares

For me, I'd wake up about 2:30 - 3 in the morning and then be awake for hours. About an hour before I would have to get up for work I'd finally fall asleep again. Drove me crazy and I was exhausted all the time. I still don't have the energy that I used to but at least I sleep through the night now. I tried to find out how vitamins react on people and how they take them but I got little response to it. I'm sure I'm lacking a whole lot in the nutrition area now and that is what is contributing to my lack of energy. Plus, I live in Arizona and its already 106 here. Nothing like the heat to zap out what little bit of energy you have - lol
