for the ashton taper at 2mg xanax, you would substutite .5mg xanax for 10mgval one week, then do this with the next 3 doses for four weeks. once you are crossed over to valium(40mg in your case, you would just go to stage 13 where it shows how much to drop for 40mgval-usually 5mgval per week for 3 weeks, then 2.5mgval for 2 weeks, etc. it is schedule 7 in the ashton manual. if he switches you over to the klonopin, tell him you want to stay on it that it works much better than the xanax. that way you will have the pills to supervise your own taper. [
REMOVED ] many people have come off of klonopin quite easily using the water titration method. you could try the depakote, but as stated above some people come off benzos in a few weeks with no problems; most people cannot endure this fast a taper, and you could set youself up for months or years of hell. [
REMOVED ] just like in aa, thousands of people can't be wrong about what works with not drinking; neither can thousands of people be wrong in their experiences with a fast taper, as compared to a slow taper. you are on your way, you're learning more about this whole deal. you'll be okay coming off of them, just take it slowly. please do not let your dr supervise your taper. he'll yank you off in 2-6 weeks, then deny any of your horrible problems are benzo-related.
