Question Flipped ATV...

Here goes nothing...

I flipped a three wheeler sat evening past (2 nights ago) and have been in horrible pain ever since.

I feel backwards off the bike, and it came back on top of me... it all happened in slow motion although my fiance says it took a split second. Luckily, I guess, I seen it coming, and as I feel back and hit the ground, I saw the bike coming, and put my feet up to "catch" the bike, so it didn't come down on top of me and crush me. it rolled on over me, I rolled over and then stopped.

But I felt, and heard, something "pop" in my back.

I could not sleep sat night, as i was in too much pain. It was excruciating.

Ever since, I have had lower back pain, to the point I cannot move. But, it seems to be only left sided, for the most part. I am very stiff, and can barely walk.

To list the symptoms since this happened:
>> lower back pain, mostly left side
>> left side - flank - pain
>> pain radiates to left abdomen
>> pain radiates to buttock and sometimes down my leg
>> back spasms
>> extreme nausea
>> lethargy - tired, feel out of it - like I am going to pass out
>> lump in throat - accompanies nausea
>> cold sensation in my lower back (right at the top of my buttocks), like there is cold water pooled there
>> when I move my left leg/foot pain is intensified.
>> cold sweat

There are more, but I think my other symptoms are not related to this... as i have other problems. These symptoms have appeared and worsened since the accident, and seem to be centered in my left side.

My fiance seems to think I have a "Bruised" kidney... My boss suggested a slipped disc... but I don't know.

If it continues, I guess i am going to go and have it checked... but does anyone here have any ideas in the meantime??

Re: Flipped ATV...

I would second the spinal injury for it explains half of your symptoms. Go see a docyor

Re: Flipped ATV...

Thank you both for replying...

It was not long after I posted that message that I did indeed go to emergency as I almost passed out and was extremely nauseaous, along with the extreme pain, etc...

The nurse practitioner gave me a needle for the pain, and then prescribed me naproxen for the pain and cyclobenzaprine for the spasms.

As I only saw a nurse practitioner, she told me to go home and lay low for awhile, and then when I could, go to my family doc asap as she also agrees it could be spinal along with muscular.

I am going to my doc this afternoon as soon as he gets into his office.
