A couple of years ago I had severe stomach pain. Can't really describe it except that it felt like a cross between a heart attack and childbirth (neither of which I experienced before). My stomach got hard as a rock, then that went away, but the pain stayed put. First it was in the center, then moved around and around, and finally settled in my upper-right abdomen.
An ultrasound revealed that I had gallstones, and my gastroenterologist recommended that I have my gallbladder yanked out, which I had done about a year ago. I have to be careful what I eat now that my gallbladder is out - anything greasy or spicy is liable to cause me pain where my gallbladder used to be (not sure if this is also caused by adhesions) and diarrhea.
Please see you doctor as soon as possible. Only he/she can tell you for sure what's going on.
