Off Methadone day 2, Indocin Question?

I broke my anke severly in July of 03. I have screws in it and have daily pain and often walk with a limp. Been through Vioxx, Mobic, Tramadol, now prescribed Indocin or Indomethicin I believe it's called which I don't take regularly during the day because it makes me tired, and I take Methadone instead.

Anyway, the problem is I've been taking 2.5mg - 5mg of Methadose daily for about 7 months, never more. I get it from the street, completely erases the pain and doesn't make me tired - actually makes me have energy and I like it.

I quit once back in March for 4 days, no withdrawl. Fell off the wagon, went back on them until two days ago. Right now I feel fine, a little irritable and moody, seems like I have minor diaherria and some restlessness - but not crazy bad.

2 main questions:
1. Anyone else come off low dose Methadone without having horrible withdrawl? I feel ok, we'll see how day 3 goes tomorrow (today is day 3, and I still feel fine).
2. Is the Indocin addictive? They said its not... but like Tramadol, it makes me feel similar and I don't want to get off the Methadone and move into another addiction that I don't realize I'm forming.

What drug works? This sucks, because I'm legit in pain and don't want to feel like a freaking junkie every day taking Methadone off the street to get rid of my pain. These other arthritis type meds I mentioned above suck, and do nothing for me except make me tired and lazy at work. At least the narcotics actually work and give me a boost! Need some educated advice please.

Re: Off Methadone day 2, Indocin Question?

Vioxx and it's partner drug that's still on the market "Celebrex" don't cause any form of fatigue.... These are not Narc's!

Getting Meth off the street to treat an ankle pain is way over the realm of what is needed for you and I presume you're well aware of that. If you continue to use Methadone beyond this spell it really won't be easy to get off and you will be hooked in an aweful way; I hope you don't go done that route, it's not nessasery.

There's many other area's of non narcotic Pain management that would be available to you if you shopped around; talk to you doctor about Celebrex if you haven't tried it and ask about seeing a PM specialist; I think that you've crossed the line of treating yourself and unless you can't foresee that awefull train streaming down the line I really suggest that you let a proffesional treat you.

Best Wishes with you C/T in the meantime.
