high platelet and neutrophils

have read quite a few postings discussions here regarding high platelet counts. want to know if high platelet AND high nuetrophils (not wbc) is extraordinary? i have had absolutely "normal" cbc's for several years (monitoring diovan and lipitor), and suddenly very high platelet (768 and 850) with rising nuetrophils. all else is perfect. my doc is a little freaked (he immediately ordered follow-up cbc) and ref'd to hemo/oncologoy and got an appt in just two days. weird because i feel in great shape and active, trim, even though i have had very achey joints and sense of fatigue with headaches, and i feel "full" every time i eat or drink anything. i complained that i feel like the lipitor is causing the acheyness etc. doc blew it off until blood work and then he is rushing things. maybe they know more and dont tell you until you see a specialist. any feedback is appreciated.

Re: high platelet and neutrophils

Hi there:

Did you have your bloodwork repeated? What did the hematologist say? My neutrophils recently came back a bit high as well. I will probably be having them repeated soon.
