Excessive Sweating caused by Spiro?

I've been taking 100mg of Spiro for the past 3 days to try and control my oily skin and hair loss. I know it's only early so I've seen no significant change in skin oil but I'm hoping that will change.

One thing I have noticed is I'm sweating really badly compared to normal. I can be sitting in warm temperatures and I'm the only one sweating. As soon as I do anything physical, even as simple as walking it gets a lot worse!

Anyone else had this?

Thanks

I have been getting hot flashes and this is only day 3 for me. I am the person who is usually cold but not any more! And I know I'm not going through the change. lol. I'm only 23 years old. It's not really sweat, it's just really hot flashes! I feel hot all the time now.

Re: Excessive Sweating caused by Spiro?

I'm male, 24 so I realise I'm taking a risk by taking Spiro, but I've read on this board about other people having success with the stuff so I wanted to give it a try for myself. I'm taking the generic brand Spirotone rather than the official Aldactone so I'm not sure if that's why it's not working as expected. I've certainly not noticed the diuretic effect at all so far.

I feel hot all the time too, but unfortunately it seems to be triggering sweating where I wouldn't ordinarily sweat. My skin also seems a lot more oily from taking Spiro rather than less so again I'm a bit concerned by that too. My facial hair is also growing quicker than what it normally does so all in all within the first few days Spiro is having the opposite effect on me than what it's supposed to.

I get the impression that I'm getting a case of reflex hyperandrogenicity so either my body has stepped up Testosterone production or has become more sensitive to the remaining Testosterone levels to compensate for the anti androgenic effects of Spiro.

I've not yet been on it a week so I'm hoping that will subside, but at the moment things aren't looking promising.

Re: Excessive Sweating caused by Spiro?

I'll leave it for a while and hope it subsides. It's a strange one though that I'm putting down to either a drop in Testosterone levels or a significant increase. It feels like a big increase with all the side effects though.

Would it be worth increasing my dosage from 100mg to 200mg?

To all the people reading this that Spiro has worked for, when have you taken it and at what dosage? I'm on 100mg per day but I'm doing that using 4 25mg doses spread across the day.

Is it more effective to take all 100mg at once and if so at what time?

Thanks
