Tlily,
have you been dx'd with Gerd or LPR? I believe the Rx for LPR is 2 doses and usually together for best results. I know some people take longer to respond from what I've read. You might want to hang in there.
I can't take PPIs --have too many side effects so am really struggling and can relate to your agony. It is terrible when you are focused every waking moment on what you can eat, can you go anywhere, can you WORK even without having coughing fits, not to mention the constant burning.
I have an interview today for a job, and am panicked I won't go into a coughing attack! The annoyance factor is worse than the pain almost.
Some things that you might try that have helped me (with the burning):
I gargle 2-3 times a day with warm salt water. That seems to sooth instantly and is easy to do. I also suck on black licorice hard candy and slippery elm lozenges (health food store). I started drinking water with chlorophyl in it, not sure if it's helping but supposed to be good for you.
I haven't found the miracle cure but I am still not giving up, but trying different things and taking one day at a time. Deep breathing and trying not to stress also, I'm a very sensitive and prone to stress type of person, so that all contributes I'm sure.
I'm curious to see what your doctor says. Most likely more meds. That's what they are trained to do and why they are called
Medical Doctors.
I feel your pain, hang in there and hope it gets better for you.
