hello!

i was just wondering if any girls knew what Birth control to use to regulate ur cycle and clear acne at the same time. Im not planning to have any sex anytime soon so i dont need it for that, lol. okay, any ideas , let me know. thanks, Grace

Orthotricyclen advertises (or at least they used to) that it helps control acne. I used to be on it to regulate my cycle, and it did indeed clear up my acne. I did get a pimple here and there, but for the most part, I had clear skin. I do remember my gynocologist saying, however, that other brands of the pill do the same thing. So I would talk to your doctor and tell him or her what you need your birth control pill to accomplish. Then given your medical history, your doctor can help you choose the pill that is best for you.

Well I was on Alesse and that kept me clear which is weird because I have heard that it is bad for acne and I tried Ortho tri cyclen lo and it made my acne terrible. Now I am on Yasmin and it works really good and no weight gain which was a great thing for me. It really just depends on your body. You just have to experiment to find the right pill for you.

Diane -35 really works but with all birth control pills there are a lot of possible side effects

I just started orhto-lo about 10 days ago and it's made my acne HORRIBLE. I used to have about 1-2 pimples here and there because I finally found a skin care system that worked for me. But after I started orhto-lo I've broken out in about 10-15 LARGE pimples all over my face. I was reading up on it on the internet and many people had an initial bad breakout and then had clear skin from there on out. So hopefully that's what I'm dealing with right now.

I dunno, I told my gyno that my primary reason (other then preventing pregnancy obviously) that I wanted to go on BCP was to help my hormonal acne. She said ortho-tricyclen has been proven to help acne so she sees no reason why Ortho-lo wouldn't do the same. So far she's been wrong...
