steroid nasal spray or antihistaminic?

hey, I`ve been using steroid nasal spray for the last month and it's no use.
I wonder why did not the ent gave me antihistaminic nasal spray?
Does it has less side effects? can I take it anytime I want like the eye drops? does it work better?

yeah i have allergies for dust mites grasses and parietria

I actually use both noseprays. If I rememberr correctly, you are in the military? The spray is called Astelin, and my military hospital doesn't carry it. I use my Tricare copay and have to fill the Rx in town.
