Re: sinus problems

My sinuses have caused me dizziness for years. When it first started
I went to many doctors who told me they doubted it was my sinuses making
me feel so dizzy. But I was sure it was because I was only dizzy when my
sinuses were irritated and sinus medicine relieved it. A ct scan found some
fluid on my sinuses and that was all. So for years I have just taken a sinus
pill whenever the dizziness starts. In July and August it gets pretty bad and
can be almost every day. Especially in high humidity. Very frustrating. I haven't found a great sinus pill yet and have tried just about all of them.

I was talking to a pharmacist last week and told her about the symptoms.
She was so happy and relieved I told her because she is experiencing exactly the same things and was about to have a scan too. I was also relieved to hear I wasn't alone. Then I found this message board and see there are others of us who get dizzy from sinus pressure. It helps to know you are not alone.

Re: sinus problems

I just started getting dizzy from sinus problems.

I've had almost daily sinus headaches for years, but the dizziness is a new thing. Fortunately, I'm only dizzy when the congestion is really bad and not 24 hours per day.

I'm going to set up an appointment with an ENT as soon as my insurance changes over on September 1st.

Re: sinus problems

I actually posted on here a little while ago about dizziness from sinuses. My ENT and OB, and family doc have all said that it is very unlikely unless my ears are involved. I don't get ear infections and have never noticed my ears bothering me when this does happen. I like other posters only get dizzy when my sinuses are really bad. And it happens even if I am sitting down. This makes me anxious because I begin to wonder if its something more serious causing this. But once I get my sinuses to drain the dizzy spells leave. I also don't get dizzy every time my head is congested. I have actually had sinus surgery. My ENT said I didn't have the disease that a lot have.He cleaned up my turbinate, and sinuses, and fixed a deviated septum. When I am not stuffed up I can breathe great through my nose, but I have headaches at least 20 days out of the month, and now its worse since I am pregnant. My ENT said to take mucinex to thin out secretions, so I have been taking mucinex D just one daily as needed. But it kinda sucks to have had surgery and have to still take something for the problem!!! I also sleep with a vaporizer and use saline nasal spray all day long. I never had these problems until I was 29-30 years old.

Answers Please

I have severe dizziness in my frontal sinus area and eyes. When I breathe thru my nose, it sets off waves of weird pain from the bridge of my nose all the way back over my head and neck. I can't think, walk straight and can't drive. I live alone. Good thing I have MS too and don't work.

I can't take anything that constricts my blood vessels, and salt burns my sinuses big time. The ENT did a scan and I have a benign polyp that is not an emergency, and my ethnoid sinuses are really dense by nature. The width of my nose at its bridge is microscopic, so no wonder the air stays trapped up there. Some days I can't read or watch TV without the waves. Already took Cephalexin and Amoxycillin but they make me so tired I can't feed myself.

My neuro doesn't want the ENT to do the surgery while I'm so run down, but duh, vicious circle. What do I do?
