Name of new drug

I seen an ad for a new drug that lowers high blood pressure and high cholesterol all in one drug. Can any one tell me the name of that drug? Thanks

Re: Name of new drug

Annette,

It's not one drug, but one PILL combining atorvastatin (Lipitor) with amlodipine (Norvasc.) I believe it is called CADUET...presumably from Pfizer.

There are several sillinesses like that in the pipeline.

They are cutesy devices to insure continued patent protection and high prices for drugs that otherwise go generic after 17 years or so. They might be useful for a mental defective who has trouble confronting TWO medicine bottles.

BEST PILLS WORST PILLS which has been published for decades has always put these forced mixtures into the "Worst Pills" category.
