Re: spironalactone

my GP had prescribed clindamycin and tazorac, but neither worked for me. i told her that i had done some research about spironolactone and acne, and it was something i wanted to try. she just shrugged her shoulders and said ok. she then wrote me a prescription and sent me to the lab to get a blood test to check my potassium level. nearly 2 months later, i'm almost completely clear.

Re: spironalactone

I had two appointments in one day, a derm and a gnyo. First was the gyno and she didn't even know what I was talking about and wouldn't even let me talk. She was sooo rude. Anyway, she wouldn't give it too and the convo went so bad that I remember walking out of there crying! But when I got to the derm he said sure no problem I have used spiro before to clear acne! I was sooo happy!! I don't get any tests done though. I am on day 79 today. I don't have oil on my face anymore. I used to wash my face and in a half an hour it would be oily but now It's never oily. I am still breaking out but it's not as bad as before

Re: spironalactone

One of the things this med does it cut out your Testosterone and for a male like myself it Will grow breasts-- I took it for an adrenal gland problem -- prescribe by an Endocrinologist.

I took it for 6 month and had to have 2 breast ***** gram tests a year apart--- sorta not good.

So be carefull -- it was not developed for acne --- it is primarily developed to be used for Congestive Heart Failure but does not work very well.

Re: spironalactone

At first My boobs were sooo sore, like tender. I do need to make sure that I drink alot of water. I find that I feel more tired then usual. Some people say that they lose weight on it be/c it makes you not so hungry. Which, I don't really need to lose weight but I can see that I'm not eating as much and my stomach is flat, before it kindof looked like I had to poop (you know how you get the little balge-spelling?). It hasn't helped too much for my cramps yet but that could be be/c I had to keep switching bcp's. Ummmmmm... let me think..I can't think right now but if I do I will tell ya.
