needing answers????

on Friday Nov. 3rd, I started what I thought was my period. it was rather light, but I thought that was just a side effect of Plan B, which I had taken a few weeks earlier. by Sunday the 5th, I was still bleeding a little so I decided to go ahead and start taking my birth control. the bleeding stopped for a few days, then on Friday the 10th, I got which I assume was my ACTUAL period. it was a lot heavier, much like my normal period.

is it bad that I started my pill pack a full week early? does that have any effect on how my birth control will work?

also, I am taking Tri Sprintec. recently I noticed little bumps all over my arms and they itch really bad at points. could this be a side effect of my pills? and would it be a wise choice for me to ask my doctor about switching to another pill, or should I give it more time? thanks everyone!

Plan B has a tendency to screw up your cycle for a while. I would just give it some more time. It might take as much as 2 or 3 cycles to get it back to normal, or whatever.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Just know that Plan B is very well known to cause the cycle to become erratic for a while. It's like getting an uber-dose of your regular pill and stuff. It's pretty common to have the kind of problems you are experiencing.

As for the itchy bumps, that might be a sign of allergy. I mean like hives. I think it's probably a good idea to talk to your doctor about that.
