Lower back pain, Swollen testicle with lump on it"

I am 72 years old and I have a sever pain in my lower back. The pain continues to be felt going up and around my back (near my kidney). It continues to hurt with an aching pain that runs down my right leg just below my knee. When the pain started I also discovered that my right testicle had also swelled up about the size of an orange. I then discovered a 3/8 lump on the bottom of my right testicle. It is not attached and it is very tender and painful. I also have unbearable pain in my groin and scrotum.

I sometimes have problems Urinating and it can also be very painful to pee.

My urologist had me take 1 Flomax pill each day and it did not help. He then prescribed a bright purple pill that also did not help. I finally was put in the hospital and was feed medicine by IV to fight the infection. After 4 days in the hospital the swelling, I saw no improvement and the doctor released me.

After getting a second opinion form another urologist, they urologist decided to try to isolate the pain. They then gave me a (2 in 1 shot) of morafine in my testicle. This was supposed to stop the pain, and after 4 days it has not. In fact I have discovered a 2nd lump on the right side of my right testicle. The 2nd lump is also not attached to the testicle.

For the last 5 years I have been taking 1 Proscar pill and 1 Flomax pill day. I have had a hard time peeing.

Recently I have been diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. The doctor said they caught it early and treated me with 28 Radiations Treatment and then followed up with 2 Needle implant treatments where they inserted 18 needles below my scrotum and they pumped radiation through it. The swelling in my testicle started about 1 week after I had the needle treatments.

My urologist is thinking the back pain may be my problem and is sending me to a back specialist. If they can not figure out the problem, the next step is to remove my right testicle. I have no problem losing the right testicle if it solves my problem. I'm concerned that if they remove my right testicle and it does not solve my problem.

Please help provide some alternative solutions or advise so I maybe able to discuss this with my doctor. We are both at a loss and do not what to do next.

I do wish I could help answer your questions but I can't. However, if your doctor doesn't know what to do next, it seems obvious that you should be seeking another doctor for another opinion. I'm so sorry for all that you have been through and sincerely hope that you find someone who is knowledgable enough to know what the next step should be.

Never worry about offending your doctor when they tell you they have no idea what is causing the pain and is not being proactive enough in discovery or resolution of such.

Some men do have groin pain with their back issues, but the fact you have/had prostate cancer is a natural identifier with your pain there.

My son was kicked in the the testicles as a young child by another child. As a teenager, he found a lump on one of his testicles because he was having pain there. The doctor said it was due to some trauma he had endured and that for him, removal of the lump was about all they could do to resolve this problem. Because of his age, the doctor recommended that he leave it be and just monitor it, and then if it becomes an constant irritant, then to maybe discuss surgery at that time. He wants children, so he's decided to watch, monitor and deal with any flare ups. He's been fine for awhile now, so hopefully it won't cause him too much trouble moving forward.
