Re: My Arms are driving me Crazy

It sounds a lot like me...I can't put nice sheets on the bed because I scratch in my sleep and there are blood spots all over them in the morning. I'm told mine (the eczema) is caused mainly by a nickel allergy- although I came up allergic to so MANY things that there could be other factors as well.

I have a regular antihistimine that I take (Zyrtec 10mg), but if the skin is bad at bedtime I also take a Benedryl. The best thing is this stuff the allergist prescribed; it is Triamcinolone mixed into VaniCreme. I use it liberally and often, and it seems to help.

Also, it seems to be slightly better when I am well hydrated, so I've gradually worked up to about five litres of water a day.

Re: My Arms are driving me Crazy

well, i just wanted to give everyone an update on my itchy arms. last week i went to the emergency room as i hurt my elbow and i thought it was broke. while waiting for the doc to come in and see me my arms started itching like crazy and i needed something to put on them. the nurse gave me some aand d ointment emollient by fougera. it stopped the itching so i thought this is great. so i went to try and find this brand. all i could find was an a and d oinment for diaper rash. it didnt work. i think it was the scent or something. so i looked everywhere for the brand the hospital gave me and could only find it online. i ordered it. in the meantime i had a doc appt with my doc and he gave me naproxen 500 milligrams to take for the pain. i took one in the morning and stopped itching and then took another one later in the day and stopped itching again. today i only took one this morning and this afternoon i didnt take one and my arms went crazy with bumps and itching. i took another 500 ml naproxen and the itching is almost gone again.
now, what would be in that little pill that would make my arms feel better. i know i cant take this pill forever as it could hurt my liver or something. so i am enjoying the non itch time i am having. but i have a derm appt one of these months and they will see what is my problem but until then i will take my naproxen.
does anyone know what could be in this pill that is helping me.
