Hey, I am a 36 yea old female suffering from palpatations, chest pain, shortns of breath... off and on for about 4 years now and finally found out after every test in the world that i have svt, super venticular tachacardia, they put me on toprol, worked for a bit now getting palps and some chest pain again, they also want to do ablation procedure, does any one have any advice about this procedure, I cant wait aroundto have another svt attack! thanks

I am certainly not an expert but I've never heard of doing an ablation for svt. They are usually done for atrial fibrillation. There are a number of drugs that treat AF that are usually given before trying an ablation. There are a number of web sites devoted to AF that I would check out first. Ablations are very tricky and the success rate varies greatly from physician to physician. Find out how many ablations your physician has done and what his "cure" rate is.
