For woman only med side effect???

Hi! I posted on the womens health site too and have my 3rd dr. appt. this week because again its unbearble. But wanted to post here too incase maybe this is a one of the medicine side effects I am on because it started happening while I got on them, but which one?? Who knows? Sorry its kindof personal but I am in desperate need to figure out whats going on....I have been married for 8 years and have only been with my hubby. The meds I am on are Lamitcal, Celexa and Topamax plus the Benicar for blood pressure. (But benicar has been on since 18 yrs old-runs in the family!) The past 8 mo. I have had a lot of discharge, pain, redness, and yeast infections. Its usually around my periods but it seems that there are more days I am hurting than not!!! The doc even checked me for herpes because I had sores which she ran a blood test and it came back negative. I have gotten over the counter meds and rx. stuff but it still comes back. I eat yogurt and all!! Any one have any suggestions or ideas?

Re: For woman only med side effect???

Call the pharmacist and tell the about all the meds you are taking. The Lamictal might be the culprit. It can cause problems with stuff like that on the insides of the body, like lesions of the intestines and etc. with mucus membranes/inter layers of the skin and cause swelling. This is something you don't mess around with. Then reschedule an appointment with the doctor again about going off off your psych meds one at a time. Then they can figure out what is going on with your body.

Contact the pharmacist and the doctor, and maybe a dermalogist.

Hang in there.

Re: For woman only med side effect???

I've been on Celexa for a year, but am slowly coming off it because it causes psoriasis flare-ups on my scalp. The other side effect I seem to be having is a low level yeast imbalance (ever since I went on it).
I just have a lot of discharge and mild itching/discomfort. The other way it seems to be manifesting is an INTENSELY itchy scalp (different than my usual psoriasis), which can also be caused by yeast imbalance. So based on my own limited experience and theororizing I would keep Celexa on your list of yeast suspects.
