Unhappy I have recurring inturned eyelashes

Hi, I have recurring inturned eyelashes (upper lid) that really get painful and I've had 6 removed so far. 3 yesterday and now today my eye feels like another one is there somewhere. I had shingles in July and it affected my eye and has caused lots of itching, burning, blurred vision and now this. Has anyone experienced anything like this or know which board I could find more info on it. I do see a specialist and so far the only treatment is to 'pluck' them out. Also, the eyedoctor yesterday turned my upper lid inside out (yuk) and scraped a 'concretion' from it, which is a calcium deposit that can grow there and can cause discomfort too. I had hoped that removed it would help alot, but so far, the discomfort is still there. Not as bad as yesterday, but there. Any help from the board would be appreciated.
Thanks

Question Re: No one answered and my problem still exists!

Hi,
I had the same problem but with my lower lid. I ended up having 4 or 5 cauterized. They haven't grown back in, but just today, another one turned inward touching the cornea and I had to pull it out. My doctor also said he rotated lid, but it doesn't seem to have solved the problem. He was going to perform surgery and cut under lid; but said it wasn't bad enough to warrant surgery the day I went; and he just cauterized those that were touching.

Thanks for your input. I tell you, this is so uncomfortable and sometimes downright painful! I've used a magnifying mirror and light to look in my eye and can't see anything, but it still feels like something is there and it's really bothering me today. I see the corneal specialist tomorrow--I'm so glad!
