Re: embarrassed about facial hair

I can definitely relate to you.. I'm 21 and my hair growth started when I was about 15... It is quite embarrassing... My friend is an esthetician and she told me that if electrolysis and laser hair were too expensive (which they were for me because I'm a full time student)... to shave... So.. I shave my face every day in the shower and nobody would ever know.... Just make sure to moisturize your face regularly so that you don't get bumps... So far, I've had success doing that.... Also, I tried Vaniqa which is a topical that you put on after you shave or use a cream hair remover.... it is supposed to stunt the hair growth... I did not see any results, but just because it didn't work for me doesn't mean that it wouldn't work for you.... Just check with your gynecologist or dermatologist.

Re: embarrassed about facial hair

ok guys So I FINALLY made it to get the laser done! I just got it done today, just to my chin area. It didnt hurt at all.It feels like a really fast , slightly hot rubberband snap to your skin, and then its all done (it may be different for others depending on the area). I was excited so i decided to share it with you all first and I'll be updating with info on any changes in my skin , and the success of the treatment later. So far everything is looking ok, as far as my skin and the area treated is concerned. No rashes or anything. The doc says the hair should fall out within 1 to 2 weeks. Wish me luck!!!

Re: embarrassed about facial hair

Definately sounds like a hormone imbalance. You should see your doctor. They can help you.

Re: embarrassed about facial hair

She used the YAG laser (Im darker skinned). Today everything seems to be still ok . The only thing that is probably going to mess me up is that I still shave the hair instead of letting it grow out only because I cant be walking into my job with a freaking beard . So its going to take a longer time for me to see my results and the smooth skin.I havent let the hair grow out enough for me to see it or for it to fall. And since the laser destroys the follicle , there is nothing to push the hair out. So now I have itty bitty stubble bumps where the hair is. Im scared to let it grow out!!! lol I will update in a few days if I see any new results.
