myasthenia gravis???

my husband has graves disease and hyperthyroidism which was being treated by tapazole. about 10 weeks ago he was welding at work and noticed double vision. he was dizzy and felt weird. we went to the e.r. and they ruled out stroke. then we saw an eye doc who thought it may be graves eye disease. that was ruled out quickly. we have been to 9 docs and they all say probable myasthenia gravis. only one doc thought it may be cranial nerve palsy and might go away -- that was six weeks ago. now we found a doc that finally made prisms for his eyeglasses. his eyes seemed to be improving a little bit for less than a week. then he had to rai to kill off his thyroid and his eyes are worse!! anyone out there with myasthenia gravis that has eye symptoms that get better for a short amount of time and then get worse again??? maybe it was the rai treatment that did it??

Re: myasthenia gravis???

I have MG that gets worse and then resolves. My vision is different from day to day and has been doing this ever since I began symptoms 9 years ago.

If Hubby is a welder, he has heard of Welders disease . Noxious vapors Manganeze coating on welding rod causes all kinds problems .There is a lawsuit for guys that have welded and have it . Tell him he had better quit and if he dose'nt get better to get on disability . Geo
