Re: Tapering off Anti-Deps Question

I assume you tapered down over a long period? I havent taken paxil myself, but it has the reputation of being the absolute worst SSRI as far as discontinuation symptoms. Hopefully someone with more experience with it can give you a better answer.

Re: Tapering off Anti-Deps Question

For most ADs, it takes about 2 weeks to fully taper off. Hopefully, your doctor DID give you a tapering off plan? He/She should have. The symptoms may last another two weeks after that, but they won't be as bad. Main is right, though... Paxil has a rep for being a tough one to get off of. Another one is Anafranil... I had a tough time with that one.

Good luck... I hope those symptoms go away soon. Hugs ~ Sly

Re: Tapering off Anti-Deps Question

I spent 6 months tapering off 20 mg. of Paxil. The dizziness was the worst withdrawal symptom. Adding a small amount of another SSRI might make it easier.

Breezes - how long were you on the Paxil for?
