Forgot to add: I know your HDL went up, possibly from premarin. Just be aware that the new HDL raising drug was just about to go for final FDA approval when it was suddenly pulled. Reason: Too many cardiac events Moral: Increasing HDL is not always good when it is medication caused. I will ask my sister what she uses as a bioidentical...I believe it is progesterone cream...made from wild yams.

Re: help

I had a hysterectomy many years ago, and use a bioidentical HRT patch, called the Vivelle Dot. It delivers a measured dose of Estrogen. Since it is worn on your skin as a patch, it bypasses your liver, giving you a dose closer to what your body would normally.

Since you do not have a uterus, you do NOT necessarily need Progesterone, as you do not need to bring on a bleed to clear your uterine lining. Progesterone is for menopausal women with a uterus.

Ask your Dr. about possibly prescribing one of the patch BHRTs. I find it surprising that a Dr. would even prescribe something like Premarin to a woman in this day and time! You may even feel better physically in other ways.

Re: help

Progesterone immediately stops with a hysterectomy. DHEA and testerone levels will only drop by half. Estrogen can still be absorbed through food and the invironment, and also other organs take over the production of estrogen. However this doesn't mean you have enough of it in your body. Taking only estrogen can cause estrogen dominance, which is not good. Women should also be tested for their testosterone level. A test that is best is a saliva test to check all hormones. They include DHEA and testosterone, progesterone and estrogen. Bioidenticals include natural progesterone cream (NPC) , and Estro-all (EST). A compounding pharmacist can make different combinations depending on you hormone status. The vivelle dot is not as well absorbed and consistently absorbed as a cream. You might read up on some of the information of Dr. John Lee on Natural Progesterone.

Re: help

Nh,
I have had all the blood test that you can imagine and everything has came back normal, except the tc and the ldl. But I started guggul and we will see if it brings it down.

Thank you
Alicia
