Hi,
I'm 40 yrs old and have acid reflux for many years before finally deciding to do something about it. Also have been nauseous and had RUQ pain. Went on a healthy diet and started exercising and lost about 20 lbs so far, reflux has pretty much been gone but nausea remains. Had ultrasound of gb and that was negative. Had hidascan that showed function at 24%. Had EDG that showed no H pyloir (?) but had a lot of bile in my stomach and also that I had pre-Barretts. My doctor barely talked about the Barrett's, I didn't even know what it was. All he talked about was putting me on Reglan and most likely will want to remove my gb. When I read about Barrett's I am now scared although I think a lot of the info out there is making it sound like we are pretty much going to get cancer for sure when only it is an increase risk factor and still unlikely. Maybe I'm wrong. I still have nausea but not as bad but I have an awefull taste in my mouth all the time, bile? Things seem to keep getting worse and this taste is driving me crazy. Is this another sign of increasing trouble? Will removing my gb help these symptoms? Thanks for any info or advice.

Barretts is serious but under the care of your gastro you will be fine. the percentage of people that go on to get cancer is very low. the thing that always bothered me about Barretts is it almost forces you to have to stay on medication as you can't take the chance of going all natural and getting the acid back but i'd take the medication over cancer anyday!!

yeah same here of course! YOu can read in alot of thread here that even some people had their GB removed they still feel somewhat the same... you have to research on it further if you wanna go for it... but then again you should have trust with your doctor, just know more about it I suggest...
