Allergy Meds??

Hi everyone,

I am allegric to dust mites. pet dander and mold. After de-allergin-izing my environment as much as possible, please give me your expertise on some of the meds.

I have taken Allegra 180 mg., Claritin and Nasonex with zero relief. Is there anything else out there noticeably different from what I have taken that would effectively provide some relief (Singulair, Zyrtec, etc., etc.)?

If so, are there any problems about stopping the medication if my symptoms continue? All this is new to me so any good advice would be gratefully appreciated.

Re: Allergy Meds??

I would try zyrtec. It's supposed to be the best for pet dander. Allegra, Claritin and Singulair did nothing for me. And no, there's no problem stopping any antihistamine usage - other than the symptoms getting worse. Have you considered immunotherapy?

I will try Zyrtec. Also, immunotherapy is next on my list. Have you ever had any experience, or know of someone who has had experience, in acupuncture? Thanks and regards.

Re: Allergy Meds??

Immunotherapy and individual meds did little for me for all of my allergies except trees. What ended up working the best was a combination of medications at the same time. They each tackle the allergies differently. My current combination is: Allegra, Singulair, Flonase and Astelin.

What is evident is that no one medication works for everybody. I will definetely consult with the doctor, quoting your formula. Many thanks!!
