Exclamation PULSE HIgh at 158 and Fever 102.9? HElp is this the FLU or infection

Hi everyone i am having a bad sinus infection and my pulse is at 158 and my fever is at 102.. it goes down a while after i take advil but it goes right up again a few hrs later.. I had a urine infection about 2 weeks ago and i took cipro for 5 days, I was scared that maybe i have a kidney infection but i did a home UTI test and it was negative.

I also had ear tubes put on and they hurt, I am wondering if this could be a bad flu going around and if i should go to the ER since my pulse is high is thsi dangerous?

my friend says its very dangerous and i could get very sick, i was waiting for tomorrow morning to go to the ER but I dont know if i should go tonight since my kids are asleep.

I've always understood that any fever over 101.2 needed to be treated asap. The tubes could be causing an infection if you are allergeric to them. The pulse rate causes concern it's high for someone at a resting point. I've had my pulse that high at a resting point but only cause I was taking pure epehedrine pills. I knew eventually it would wear off. Not knowing the cause of you elevated heart rate is a bit scary.

If a hot shower and asprin are not helping I'd suggest the ER.

Hi jennyVee. I agree that you should go to the ER tonight. Can your friend or someone stay with your kids while you go?

Please keep us posted on how you are doing okay?
