Yes I did order it online. I could not find ONE store, pharmacy, etc. that carried the gum (I live in NJ) Pricewise it was very reasonable.

Re: Burning tongue

My burning tongue is back, I'll try the baking soda suggestions and see if that helps. One thing that bothers me is before when my tongue was burning my throat hurt and my teeth hurt, now I just have the burning tongue without any other symptoms. Very strange.

Re: Burning tongue

Hi All,
I am new to the board so not sure how best to post new thread. I have suffered from a sore tongue since I visited my dentist last September. I have since seen him 6 times, had a crown put on one tooth, I have seen an ENT once and 2 different Oral Surgeons. I have tried 5 different medications, including neurontin, amitryptilline, kenalog in orabase, magic mouthwash, and fluocinonide gel. I just started using an over the counter mouth wash, toothpaste and dry mouth gel. I am at wits end with the awful and very localized pain. It gets worse as the day goes on and wakes me up at night. My most recent oral surgeon thinks it is something called burning mouth syndrome and I am going to see another specialist (it is taking a month to get an appointment) in the hope of getting some relief. Has anyone on this forum ever been cured of this?
Thanks for any help you might be able to offer me!

Re: Burning tongue

If yours is being caused by acid like mine you might want to try what I've started to do and seems to be working. First of all you have to make sure you do not use any whitening toothpaste. When I wake up in the morning I'm using baking soda on my teeth and swish it around on my tongue. At night I use a toothpaste called enamel care (strengthens the enamel and stops sensitive teeth). So far this has been helping me as my burning tongue and sensitive teeth have almost gone away. Also, don't brush your tongue at all, seems to make it worse.

I have had the burning tongue with my gerd for 4 years, it's driving me crazy, so far I have not found anything to help, it comes and goes with no rhyme or reason.
