Question Tia

I recently suffered a TIA so the Doctors tell me. However, nothing showed up on all the tests they performed and I feel perfectly fine now. I have had a problem with what I think is indigestion since the TIA, anyone hae any information on that - greatly appreciated

Re: Tia

just wondering how the docs came to this conclusion without actually seeing anything on any tests?was this all just symptomatic on your end or did something significant actually take place that led them to that Dx?it just sounds a bit odd that they do feel you actually had some level of brain bleed or infarct but it doesn't show up on any tests(it most definitely WOULD have left remnants of it behind with any bleed).what were you told from them regarding the actual Dx and how did they come up with that based on no real findings?what exact tests did they give you and do you have those test results in hand or were you just 'told' there was nothing?you do really need to see that report or reports for yourself.if you could just answer those questions it would really help alot.FB

Re: Tia

The morning this happened I had lost the feeling in the left side of my body by the time I arrived at the Doctors office the left side of my face was drooping. I have seen the tests myself and there is nothing there to indicate a TIA. I was incredibly tired for a few weeks after this episode. When the Doctor sent me for routine blood work as follow up he again indicated that it was due to a "previous stroke". Thanks for all the info

Re: Tia

you know, honestly,if there really IS no hard proof that a tia actually happened, chances are that this is not the culprit here, really.i think this is more of an estimated "guess" more than an actual Dx.in order to really Dx someone with anything, you at least have to have indicators for it,you know what i mean?this could have been caused by many different reasons besides a tia.have you been fully evaluated by a good neurologist?there are just sooo many possibilitys to explain your type of symptoms that i DO think it would be in your best interest at this point to really have your condition just totally and fully evaluated.if there isn't ANY real evidence, you need to go to plan B and find a doc who will take this on til he or she actually finds out whats up.this just sounds very neurological in nature to me.you really DO need to find out what happened or is actively happening inside your own body.i would not accept a 'guess' form any doc.

you do not really even know whether this was some sort of an "event' or the indicator of some actual ongoing condition.you need to be your own advocate here and just keep pushing things til you get some results.believe me,i have had to do this many times in the past with myself and my youngest son.

you just have the right to really know,ya know?i wish you luck with this.please keep me posted as to what you find out,K? FB

Re: Tia

I went back to the Doctor today and explained about the indigestion, he told me to stop the aspirin and gave me a prescription for plavix. He also mentioned that this episode could have been caused b a complicated migrane? I was in the hospital for over a week with this and the nuerologist was confident everything was ok by the time I was leaving. The strangest thin happens though, quite often I just feel sick and really tired, it comes upon me quite suddenly and family and friends tell me the color just drains from my face to apparently a quite yellowish color tone? Just want to get back to normal - thanks for the feed back, it is most appreciated.
