A med that kills, it is the last resort

So I'm sick of dealing with PVC's. I'm on Coreg. I don't know if it helps; it seemed to at first but I'm really unhappy. REALLY UNHAPPY.

I have irregular hearbeats, skipped beats, palpatations, and sometimes A-Fib. I can't play with my two year old, like a lot of other folks on these posts.

My doctor said if Coreg didn't work there are others to try, up to the last resort. The last resort outright kills some people, mostly those that don't have a reasonably health heart.

The ones that can take the medication feel better then they ever have in their life. The others are dead.

What is this medication? Is anyone on it? I'm going back to ask, but I'd rather be informed before I press this matter.

I'm ready to risk anything to feel better.

Re: A med that kills, it is the last resort

Hi John,

I can't imagine what that drug would be. I was on Amiodarone for almost 3 years. This is an anitarrhythmic with some very bad side effects and is usually only used as a last resort. It can cause some very serious lung problems. which have to be monitored regularly. It was like a miracle drug for me -- not even one skipped or extra beat. Then one day it stopped working. I don't think most doctors want to give it to young people because you would not want to stay on the drug for many years. (I assume you are young because you have a 2-yr old.) I am interested in finding out what this drug is.
