My sons eyes....I dont know what to do

My sons school has called me 2 times this past week to pick him up because his eye got swollen, red and this jelly like stuff in it. Last year we had him in the ER because we were flipping out because his eye did this. Well It was April the 23rd when he was there last year and this has started pretty much the same time again. I have kept him inside, not let him out. The minute we go out his eyes swell up, its goes from eye to eye. I have an appointment with the allergist May the 18th. My son is 5 and in kindergarten. This is terrible. Today he cried because he cant go out. Does anyone know how long this pollen season last? Also, he is on Zrytec, patanol changed it too zaditor, and rhinocort. I dont know what else to do for him.

Wash his face and keep natural tear eye drops for rinsing out the eyes in a pinch. You are doing about all you can do.. the only change I would suggest is Nasonex in place of rhinocort and possibly add singular (PRXN). I have the same issue, it is ajnnoying as all get out, but it will pass. Look into spending time in museums and such. Also look to see if you have a local pollution regulation board, they often post, pollutants, pollens and the levels present on a daily basis.

Good luck to you.

Re: My sons eyes....I dont know what to do

Hi is there air conditioning at your sons school by any chance?

Yhe reason I ask is because I have recently found out that that is my problem. Whenever I went into large supermarkets, airports or anywhere there was air conditioning, my eyes would go really really red and watery, and would also feel very sore, and my nose would also be affected.

Just another possibility

No air, it is better when we are in the air. Its the outside that triggers it.
