Oh, thank you so much for telling me about ER. If I can't handle it, I am going to go there. But I will NOT go try to find pain meds! I'm very determined. Thank you so much!

Okay I just got out of the bathtub....... the hot bath with Epsom salts. The leg thing is beginning. I'm trying to chill....... but I have to admit I'm getting fearful. It's ok - I can't give in and take a pill. I have none. And no money to get any. Slight pain on the left side of my hip radiating down a bit. But the numb-tingly feeling that I have going down my legs is beginning..... you know the feeling...... your legs start twitching. I doubt I will sleep tonight. I will keep you all posted. If I can't sleep, I will come back on here. I really appreciate you people being so supportive!

Does anyone know how to deal with the jumpy legs thing?

Try alternating ice and then a heating pad on your legs. Do the things that have ever helped you with Charlie Horses. It is just the nerves and muscles in your legs contracting. Understand what it is and it won't be frighteneing, just an irritation.

Stay strong, Marlena, you can do this.

I was scared also, but you can do it! Pray to whatever God you understand. I have gone to the ER so many time that they know me, they are not interested in calling the police, they only try to help us! Randy

hi M,

i had the leg jumping thing real bad during the first few weeks of detox....i found that using tonic water helped....it has quinine in it. i also put a bar of soap between my sheets and as whacky as that sounds, it also helped. even if it is an old wives tale, what the hey, i'll take help anywhere i can get it.
a hot bath is great and a heating pad is a godsend. ice never helped me, but try it.....again, what have you got to lose? consider it a grand experiment and gain information about what works for you....you can do this..
