which BC will NOT cause me to gain weight?

Hi,
I have been on ortho tricyclen lo for about 5 months and have gained 15 lbs. It's really discouraging- I eat good and exercise and the only thing I have changed is the BC. I was on no birth control for about a year before this.

Any suggestions on BC that will not cause me to gain weight? any experiences?

There is no sure way to find out. What works wonderfully for one person may reek havoc on your system. Many people did not gain any weight on Loestrin FE 24 but I gained 22 lbs in 2 months. Yaz and Yasmin have a duiertic in them so that can cause you to loose water weight but not fat.

Some pills cause hair loss or acne, sever depression , mood swings for one person but doesn't to anything to another.

It has to do with how the chemicals that in the BCP react and work with the bodies own chemistry. Trial and error. You may need a weaker or stronger pill to help balance your hormones better so not to gain weight.

I went and had my hormones tested to see what I needed and I need a pill with higher progesterone so I switched to Ortho Cept. I'm at the end of my 3 weeks. So it's to soon to tell if this is the right pill for me but I have noticed some improvement.

That's weird, I've been on Ortho Tri cyclen lo for about 7 months now, and my weight has been fine. I read the little packet that came with it, and it said that because of the low hormones, weight gain isn't expected. Also it said that the same number of women have gained weight on the pill as the number of women who lost weight - so basically equal.

It's not werid to gain weight on a pill. What works for you may cause negative side effects on another. There are many brands of pills. Maybe you need a low dose pill.

The high dose pill are: Demulen 1/50, Ogestrel, Ortho-Novum 1/50, Ovcon 50, Ovral
