Re: does xanax actually produce chemicals that MAKE you have anxiety???

Hi Zeyavia,
I have been taking Xanax on and off for 7 years and I don't think I have ever experienced more anxiety as a result. I think that you are doing the right thing taking the very lowest dose you can. I am always worried about becoming dependant, but my doctor assured me that I don't take it on a regular basis, so it is not a concern. I take anywhere from .25 to .5 depending on my anxiety. If I am having a full blown panic attack I take the higher dose, but usually just .25 if I feel really nervous or my OCD is bad. I wouldn't worry if I were you.

Re: does xanax actually produce chemicals that MAKE you have anxiety???

yeah but im wondering if the low dose is really helping me...maybe i shouldnt cut the .25 in half...cause like i said i felt relaxed but not much of a dif...
yeah i wasnt feeling anxious ON THE XANAX (well at first but that was ME creating it cause i was nervous and it was my first time) but after it wore off...its cause i read that stupid post by someone on another board saying that once it wears off...it does this to your body...but its rubbish...i dont believe it...cause then how could many ppl only take it as needed and not take it everyday...there are many that do
im just wondering when i should take it and how often but ill get into the groove after i become more comfy with it...and it will be like second nature no?

Re: does xanax actually produce chemicals that MAKE you have anxiety???

I also get so anxious when I take medication especially after reading other posts and other info online. My doctor told me to do myself a favor and stay off the internet while I'm adjusting to meds, but I can't stop myself. I just started taking Luvox last night for OCD, anxiety, and depression, and I had weird feelings right after I took it and I convinced myself all these bad things were side effects. I actually made my husband read the warnings and side effects because I couldn't or I would imagine I was experiencing them. I told him not to tell me what they were, but to watch me for signs.

It will become second nature after awhile-in fact, Xanax is the only med I've ever felt completely comfortable with. If you are still feeling no relief from anxiety after breaking the pill in half, then try try taking the whole .25 if that's what your doctor prescribed. It might really help you.

Re: does xanax actually produce chemicals that MAKE you have anxiety???

Zanax is just the old valium with one other chemical added - if i did my home work right. I had three valium user friends and two family members go temporarly crazy every now and then. A couple of them were taken to the State nut house for a week or two. If you are not smart or alert enough mentally to analyze what this drug is doing to your daily lifestyle - than back off using it. I doubt you can control it because it controls you.

lol...well i went to pull my wallet out of my purse and my xanax came with it and apparantly i didnt have the lid on tight and they all went flying through my car onto my dirty floor...so only a few stayed in the bottle like five...and some landed on the less dirty part of the floor so i wiped them off and put them back in...i wont take the others cause im strange like that...lol...although im sure they are fine...right...right????lol...no really answer that one...
anyway ill be ok cause at this point im not taking the three a day that are specified so when i go to get a refill im sure it will be in the alotted time
the bottle is 50 so that is like 2 and a half weeks worth
yeah itll be like second nature
but so i shouldnt be worried bout getting anxiety after they wear off????
