Anyone out there receiving allergy shots get them 3 at a time? I'm getting ready to begin allergy shots for the 2nd time in my life. Last time it was just one shot and it took me longer than normal to get through them. This time, I am going to get 3 at a time for 27 items I am allergic to. I worry because last time I regularly got softball size welts from just the one shot.
I took the allergy shots for over 25 years. They did absolutely
nothing for me. I now take zyrtec, singular, atrovent nasel spray.
I get immediated relief and not more shots.
The reason you get more than one is that some of the cannot be mixed together due to the size of the molecules. It's a very technical thing and doesn;t have anything to do with how you react to those particular allergens.
Take an antihistamine the morning of your injections (before you go for them).
That should help. The standard regimen is five years long. Anyone taking them longer than that is most likely going to a doctor who needs income.
