Is This Alright!

I have a 14yr old daughter who is covered in bad acne, face, neck, shoulders, back, arms and chest. After 2 yrs of trying to coax her to see the Dr, ( she is a special needs child) she finally let me take her. The dr said she is badly scarred already and has given her Oxytetracycline. The thing is my child is feeling sick, dizzy and has a headache. This is only day 2 of taking the meds, and i am going to get her to keep taking them as she is so depressed about her acne. She is also taking ear drops (Cerumol) so i wonder if this is not helping. I wonder if i should cut her tablets down to one in the morning and one in the evening to start with, then build up to 2 morning and night. She takes the tablets an hour before she eats like it says she should. . Does anyone have any ideas how i can help her feel a bit better, she has put herself to bed now as she just dont feel great.

While it's best to take it on an empty stomach, if your daughter is having these symptoms, I'd take the pills WITH food. Even eating just a few crackers immediately before taking the pill could help immensely. Splitting the pills up could also work (just make sure she's still getting the daily dose that the doc prescribed). When I took antibiotics, certain ones made me nauseas. The worst one, for me, was Doxycycline. I recommend Minocycline (I had absolutely no side effects except sun sensitivity - no nausea whatsoever). Good luck!

Just be careful with taking antibiotics, they can potenitally cause more problem in the future.

I agree with sweetlily. I just wanted to kindly comment on one thing I've learned, that any drug that ends with "cycline" can do extreme damage to someone in the future. A few professional doctors I know wrote out a huge article on the worst drugs you can possibly take and why. It blew my mind to hear some of the scary things that come out of it. Just my comment.

A thought though cazajacks, what is your daughters diet like? Have you tired or researched up on chinese herbs?

Sulfur soap seems to help me, perhaps it will help you. Perhaps you need to pray as well? Pray can help people, just as suggestion. Sulfur helps me to clear it up, but sometimes I get flares. I notice especially if I eat a lot of sugar (sometimes I will eat a low-fat ice cream bar, it has lots of sugar, and then in the same day I'll eat a peppermint patty candy, and I notice that the next day I'll have a flare up. I believe it's because of all the sugar?)

I'll pray for you and your daughter.
