Seemingly never ending urine problem

I'm seriously in an altered state of mind and I can't even describe whats going on with me anymore.

For almost a month and a half I haven't been urinating normally. I have a frequent urge to urinate and a reduced amount comes out. On top of that I've been having stomach pains, side pain, indigestion, pressure in stomach, loss of appetite, lower pelvic pressue, pain in my right testicle sometimes which feels as if the testicle is twisting, and numerous other symptoms that I don't know are in my head or really happening. Basically I have to be near a bathroom or else I start feeling bloated and feel pressure in the pelvic area.

I went to my GP and she took blood and urine tests. The urine test showed I have urinary tract infection.

She refers me to a nephrologist and he puts me on Amoxicillin and says I should get an ultrasound just in case. He said I'd be better in no time. That was nearly 3 weeks ago. No difference what so ever. What really angers me is the fact that he was so confident that its the UTI causing all my problem and amoxicillin would make it go away.

I still feel the same. He hasn't received my ultrasound yet and says I should take another urine and blood test.

I'm seriously in a surreal state of mind right now and just want out of this misery. I'm really messed up right now.

An entrenched UTI can be a beggar to move. You probably need another go of penicillin, but definitely further tests. Maybe a CT scan of your urinary tract or an intravenous pyelogram to see that there is no other malfunction. Keep pushing your docs, they don't seem to lose any sleep over stuff otherwise. Sera

Re: Seemingly never ending urine problem

Call back and ask for the results of the urine culture (that is, is the bacteria sensitive to the antibiotic prescribed?) Perhaps you need a different antibiotic.

I had a similar problem and had to be referred to a urologist who ruled out things like kidney stone and cysts. Ask for a referral! In my case, I had to stay on a low dose antibiotic every day for three entire months in order to be cured.

Ask to see a urologist... specialists tend to be good at figuring out what is really wrong.
