Low sodium and chloride - why? - on metformin

Hi, friends,

Just received blood tests showing low sodium (126) and chloride (93). Diabetes Type II in May; been on metformin ER and increasing every three weeks because not working. Now up to 1500 mg/day.

Anyone have any idea what is causing this problem? Having increased liver issues since starting metformin (AST and ALT are higher), but triglycerides are down.

Waiting for a callback from the doctor, who just gave me a print out of these results but no feedback. Not even sure what kind of specialist to see for this.

Anyone have any ideas? Also on vytorin and tricor and miralax.

Thanks
