Baclofen for pain relief (helps relieve opiate addiction?) any info?

Anyone know or have used this drug?

I read a while back on the internet that it also helps with cutting down cravings, is this drug in the opiate family?

Anyone use it or heard of it?

hi cram, baclofen is a very strong muscle relaxant..will it be for pain? i cant imagine how it could help with addictions unless it just knocks the hell out of him...it sounds like its strong stuff.

i wouldn't suggest using this for WD off opiates, it's a far to powerful muscle relaxant and could easily become addictive.

far better form of pain management is remedial massage and accupuncture and something like nurofen

in recovery you really want to promote a healty lifestyle not more drugs....good luck

Good, we will stay clear of baclofen. Here is my dilema, his dilema. He needs pain medication, oh how we have tried everything else.

I just don't know what to do, I hold the pills and dole them out but I am so scared of relapsing because he is in pain and wants to get high or in pain and it isn't available.

We have a doctors appointment tomorrow to start the process of getting his back referred out to get this problem under raps once and for all. I just don't know what to do, I/he is/am dogged if I do and dogged if I don't.
