Re: Post Surgical Question

Pep- I have my fingers crossed this surgeon will have answers for you on Tues. I know how bad this back thing is on all of us..Hang in there I'm sure you'll get answers . I believe if this Dr. blows you off again , dump him and seek help somewhere else. You don't need the run around any longer , something is wrong !

I just got all the paper work from my new Neurosurgeons office. They ask everything don't they ? I need a wheel barrel to carry all my films to his office. ..They ask for everything I have so they'll get them

Roy - Morning Sir ! I just got back from my surgeon yesterday. I'm not saying its serious yet , just worried it could get serious because I never had it drain like this before. Gee that poor woman , I hope she recovers from it..
I don't know what the first stage of staff feels or looks like ?
It feels awful weird because it feels like there is something tingeling the whole area around the wound...My back where they cut it doesn't feel this way ? Maybe its just the drainage makeing it feel this way ? It stings a little and is very itchy !!!

Thanks for your worries. You guys are my best cyber buddies

Re: Post Surgical Question

Hey Shawley,
On another topic you mentioned: I've found that Lecithin (found in the vitamin aisle) works wonders to clear up cold sores. I take two immediately when I feel one coming on, then one more two more times during the day for a total of four a day. After two or three days, I don't need it anymore. Often, it never even erupts. I had a coworker years ago who got these all the time. I gave him my tip and he just about worshipped me! But it doesn't work for my husband. L-lycene works better for him, but they're so big I can't swallow them and they didnt help me. I swear by the Lecithin.

With all the stress you're under, it's no wonder they're popping up right now! They're more commonly related to stress than to colds, in spite of their name.

Hope it helps,
Emily

P.S. When I got my first cold sore a year or so after I got married, my doctor just grinned at me and said, "You never should have kissed him."

Re: Post Surgical Question

DAN,

please get better....ya only got two cheeks......
Cripes...can't trust you alone can we? Please make sure to take those meds like you are suppose to to get rid of that infection. That's not anything to mess around with. We can't have the major leaking puss outa his butt onto our chairs....doesn't set the best example......

in all seriousness...keep an eye on that.......we are worried!

I said is that a problem and she went and got my surgeon who came in and cleaned it up and told me to keep an eye on it and gave me a script of Cephalexin 500MG to take every 6 hours for infection.

Its pretty disgusting looking but no red streaks or hot spots ? This morning it was leaking again , my underwear was wet over my wound. I'm not worried about it just wondered if anyone else experienced this before ?

Shawley,
Make sure that you take those antibiotics. I had drainage from my surgical wounds both times. I have had to take antibiotics. It is normal for it to drain for a few days, but at the same time, it should stop on it's own in a few days. In the meantime, take the antibiotics to be on the safe side, just as directed. You don't want to get an infection into the area.
Better to be safe than sorry.
