Re: Life without painkillers sucks!!

My, my, my. Sounds like you're really making progress girl. That's wonderful news!

I've got a vitamin d deficiency. It does hurt. Actually it doesn't hurt as bad now. I've been taking vit d for almost 2 months now and have noticed an improvement. I can touch my ribs without feeling the pain and the muscle weakness is better. I hope you have as easy a solution for that as I did. Felt good to have an answer on that one.

Don't fall asleep on the mri table. I almost did. They made me so comfy. Make sure you ask for a wedge or pillow for under the knees. It's a long procedure and you do that, you'll feel like you're layed back in a comfy lounge chair.

You'll love physical therapy. I had it years ago. Had the hottest looking physical therapist. I was really disappointed when it ended. He gave the best massages I've ever had in my life.

So'd you have fun? How's your dad? Did he survive?

Based on your other responses of late you need to come out and visit me, I have from row seats to some of the most massive construction guys and front row for fleet week. One of the construction guys had me hang from his triceps as he lifted me - and I am NO lightweight.

Re: Life without painkillers sucks!!

Yes, lots of progress, finally!! I have had several MRIs, and ever time I almost fall asleep. I had physical therapy a few years ago on my ankle. It was pretty fun. I too was diappointed when it ended. If I was going to stay in town, I would definitely choose the same place for it again. Oh darn! Hehe.
So, vitamin d deficiency is pretty bad feeling? Glad to hear that you are feeling better after only a couple of months!! I so want to just get rid of this pain.
Dad is good. Hehe...so when he was talking about all of hte pills I needed to have filled, and I brought up birth control, and explained everything about them, because he asked, all of a sudden his face got all red and flustered, and he was like, ok that's enough! Hehe. That was really funny.

Last night was miserable!! Ok, so when I went to lay down, all of a sudden I got this pelvic pain like I have never had before in my life. It was on teh left, and spread gradually up to the left lower abdomen. I creid so bad. Called a GYN at Mayo, and she recommended I go to ER, however, parents weren't willing, so ummm...pretty much had the heat pad on all night, and took naproxen (which I know is a no no, but I didn't think I could live with the pain). It is much better tonight though. Could starting birth control do that? The pain started about an hour after taking my new meds (Aviane and Effexor). Don't know if they are related, or maybe it was the GYN exam. Don't know, just know I am still nauseaus from the pain. Uggh. Think I will stay in bed today.
Hope things are going well for you!

Re: Life without painkillers sucks!!

Daisy,

I am happy for you. It looks like you are moving ahead in the right direction, things are being seen to and taken care of by some very respectable doctors. You are in good hands. As there are multiple issues to deal with, there's a lot that needs to be done. You must be patient. You will soon start seeing progress and feel a bit better. It will take time.
