How long have you been a vegan?? The best thing to do for yourself is to stick with the vegan diet (in my opinion). Your cholesterol level will most likely drop significantly. I know two people who had this experience after going vegan. I have a book on veganism that tells a true story about a man who had advanced heart disease, and had undergone 3 triple-bypass surgeries. After going vegan, he was one of the first cases ever seen of a complete reversal of advanced heart disease (vegan the new ethics of eating, by erik marcus if you haven't already heard of it). In addition, I knew someone who's doctor told him he had no choice but to take Lipitor, probably for the rest of his life. He experienced terrible side effects. It was like he had the flu all of the time. He finally decided on his own to stop taking the medication, and alter his diet instead. If it can be avoided, don't take the Lipitor for an extended period of time. Although it regulates your cholesterol, prolonged use of any medication will take a toll on your body. Good luck to you!
