What's the difference between Advair and Asmanex, and which is better?

I'm currently using Advair once a day and Singulair, but I'm still feeling a heaviness in my chest. My doctor only wants me to use Advair once a day due to my osteoporosis and steriods possibly causing bone loss. I just wondered if Asmanex was a better product or what the difference was.

Re: What's the difference between Advair and Asmanex, and which is better?

Advair has so many contraindications. In fact it has been "black boxed" for a few years now. And yet it is so frequently prescribed -- I can't understand it.
I find Asmanex very effective. I used to get terrible heart poundings from QVAR and Advair but find Asmanex seems to help with no discernable after effects. Of course I'm certain that all corticosteroids take their toll in time but one does have to breathe!
Feel better.
