Generic Amb ien!?

top, wow my son has been on topamax for 4 mths now and is doing great on it..yours is the only negative story i ever read about it..im sorry you are going thru this..

Whoever is telling you that Tarazadone is genric for Ambien is definitely not correct. For one Ambien is purely a sleep aid and Tarazadone is an anti-phsycotic. Those are two totally differint things. The tarazadone will knock you out and you can possibly feel groggy the next morning, but it is much, much stronger than the Ambien. Also, if it was the generic for Ambien, you would usually be prescribed pretty close to the same dose, but Tarazadone is dosed at a much higher Mg than Ambien. Just as one of the previous posters said, the Tarazadone is very strong so please use it with much caution.

Trazadone is actually a tetracyclic antidepressant, not an anti-psychotic medication. It is commonly prescribed in low dosages as a sleep aid, particularly when sleep problems focus around anxiety and benzos are not advisable for one reason or another (addiction being a good one). It is not generic for ambien (zolpidem tartrate). I take the generic ambien, and it works just fine for me.

Hi there. I do have experience with trazodone. I was placed on it during my alcohol rehab stay over a year ago,to replace lorazapam. Trazodone is not supose to be addictive, as the lorazapam is. It works great!! My only negative experience with it was the first week or so, I had very strange & very VIVID dreams.(though It could have had something to do with detoxing & those meds too.) It knocks you out right away & there is not much fighting it , you can feel it kick in in about15- 20 min. I take a full 50 mg before bed, and it has been over a year now & they still work like a charm. I don't feel anything in the morning as a result of taking them either, I think they work great !!
